Looking for a summer sport?

With football season now behind us, thoughts turn to what can we do over the summer. Why not fill that void with a spot of Cricket?

The North Alphington Cricket Club is fielding 2 girls’ teams in a girls only cricket competition played in the inner east of Melbourne on a Wednesday night with games going from 5 – 7pm.

It’s a relaxed and fun environment designed to develop the girls’ skills and enjoyment of the game.

We have a few spots left to fill in our squads – with all levels of experience welcome for girls aged from 10 – 17 years.

Playing top, cap and all equipment provided.

Christine Johns has kindly offered to represent the Club at the design stage of the Darebin Multi-Sport Stadium.  This is a much needed facility in the south Darebin area.  Thanks Christine and we look forward to the next update.

At the grading meeting we learned that the new rules for 2016 will be gradually phased in, and that the association has until September this year to enforce them all.  If any coach/team manager has issues on court on match day around the rules or new information coming from umpires, please look to raise it with the court supervisor at the time, or alert a Committee member to help you out.   They are all trying to make sense of it just like us, and some umpires are getting told to enforce.
